Onsite Migration (one time)
Migratating SEO data from your old site to your new
- 01.Create new URL structure based on natural page / content architecture. Should The Client wish to provide new URL slugs (possibly from SEO agency or otherwise), they can do this prior to launch.
- 02.Redirecting all old URL’s to new, repair broken links and 404 errors which will be redirected to the closest relevant new URL or homepage.
- 03.Install SEO Yoast Free Plugin or The Client required SEO plugin (See Plugins).
- 04.Migration of meta data (titles, descriptions, tag lines, keywords etc) from old site to new where applicable. Any missing meta data or new meta data to be written should be supplied to Placeworks prior to launch. Meta data can also be added via CMS by The Client SEO team.
- 05.Migrate Google Analytics, tag manager, tracking codes, sitemaps, social links or otherwise scripts from old website to new.
- 06.Set appropriate header, sub-header, paragraph tags for written content at Placeworks discretion to best fit content provided.
- 07.For image alt tags or otherwise SEO related tasks to images, is the responsibility of The Client and/or SEO agency to supply. Placeworks will create CMS user access for third parties at the request of The Client to add data to the CMS. Adding image alt tags or otherwise SEO related tasks to images by Placeworks, must be supplied prior to live launch, or otherwise via maintenance service agreement.
- 08.Latest XML Sitemap auto-generated by SEO Yoast plugin and installed. Robots.txt file configured and tested.
- 09.Once migration has been completed, Placeworks will submit the new sitemap to Google for indexing. Placeworks will then notify The Client to check / qualify all scrips within their Google Search Console for final sign-off that all is working correctly.
