When Accor Group (in partnership with Travel + Leisure) sought to evolve their vacation‑club offering into a fully digital, membership‑centric experience across multiple regions, they engaged Placeworks to deliver. This project marked our first collaboration with Accor, and we approached it as a long‑term, scalable platform that could grow in line with their evolving service.
Accor Vacation Club is a points‑based membership ecosystem. Members receive annual allocations of Première Points, which they redeem for stays or travel services. Think flights, car hire and cruises. Memberships come in multiple tiers across Corporate, Traveler, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze, that differ in benefits and point allocations.
Crucially, the platform must support multiple regions (Asia, Middle East, Australia, USA), each functioning semi-autonomously but interlinked so travelers can leverage global benefits across markets.


Our challenge was to deliver a site and back‑end that felt seamless, intuitive, and robust—even though behind the scenes the logic was anything but trivial.
We started with discovery workshops to map out user journeys for existing members and customer prospects, system interactions, and tricky edge case scenarios; think expired points, point pooling, cross‑region usage. We defined a technical architecture centered on modular services that could scale and adapt with the Club offer.
From a design POV, our guiding principle was clarity through simplicity: we wanted users – especially new ones – to intuitively understand how points work, what options exist, and how to use them, without being overwhelmed.

The delivered platform combines an elegant front-end experience with powerful backend mechanics:
- A streamlined homepage that introduces the membership concept, displays tier advantages, and prompts signups
- Region‑aware content: when users land, the site adapts to their region (Asia, Australia, etc.) with tailored messaging, offers, and inventory
- A member dashboard summarizing points, membership tier, offers, upcoming bookings, and available upgrades
- An offer engine that surfaces promos based on membership tier, region, and user behavior
- Full booking integration allowing members to redeem points for stays or travel services
- Multilingual support and responsive design across devices
- A CMS that enables marketing teams to roll out promotions, change rules, or regional content without developer intervention
All of this is wrapped in a visual identity aligned with Accor’s brand – clean, confident, travel-forward – yet with custom touches to express the exclusivity of membership.
