When Placeworks joined the journey, our challenge was to capture that spirit and translate it into a brand and digital experience that felt effortless yet elevated. The result was a world of seaside colours, movement and light, a visual language that embodies SAii’s easy-going sophistication and joy of discovery.
From the outset, SAii Lagoon was envisioned as more than another Maldivian resort – here was a playful, free-spirited counterpart to the country’s polished luxury offerings. As a Curio Collection by Hilton project by Singha Estate, the resort connects directly to The Marina @ CROSSROADS Maldives, a vibrant waterfront hub of dining, retail, art and music.
With over 200 guestrooms, beach villas and overwater retreats, SAii Lagoon blends barefoot luxury with a sense of movement and exploration. For a generation of travellers seeking experiences over formality, it’s a space to arrive, exhale and discover.



Placeworks joined the project in 2017, ahead of the resort’s launch. Our goal was to design an online experience that reflected the tactile, sensory world of SAii – one that felt intuitive and alive, not templated or transactional.
We developed a flexible digital identity system that could evolve with the brand: vivid visuals, generous spacing, and a tone that balances tropical warmth with clarity of communication. The website was built on a super-speedy, SEO-optimised CMS, allowing the marketing team to update and evolve the experience in real time as the resort came to life.
The partnership has continued ever since, with Placeworks providing ongoing creative direction, technical support and campaign artwork. The same design philosophy has extended into the wider CROSSROADS Maldives ecosystem, creating a cohesive digital destination that celebrates connection, creativity and escape.
